Rock&RollQueen live performance for Ladbrokes & #wemakeevents to launch European Championship film

Ladbrokes has partnered with #WeMakeEvents to light up music venues in red and lend its support to the live entertainment industry. Presenter and radio DJ Polly James introduced and we performed 'Rock & Roll Queen' live as part of this campaign and to launch Ladbrokes European Championship TV advert which also features the song as its soundtrack.

The streamed gig was followed by the first broadcast of Ladbrokes’s new ground-breaking European Championship 2020 TV advert which features hundreds of skilled and experienced drummers performing as a player prepares to take a penalty.

To demonstrate its support for the music and entertainment sector, Ladbrokes has partnered with industry collective, #WeMakeEvents. The group, set up in the wake of the pandemic, is staffed entirely by volunteers raising awareness of the huge challenges faced by over 700,000 highly-skilled professionals in the entire events ecosystem. A recent #WeMakeEvents survey found that one third of employees have already left the sector, as they have been forced to favour stability over passion. The collective is actively campaigning to get those remaining the immediate, tailored support they need to survive the COVID-19 crisis. Ladbrokes has pledged a significant donation to support its campaign to help areas of live entertainment outside of sports return to their former glory.

To compliment the live performance of 'Rock & Roll Queen', Ladbrokes and #WeMakeEvents lit up famous music venues across the UK, turning their lights red to highlight the crisis facing the events industry. The venues included the Cavern Club in Liverpool, the Albert Hall in Llandrindod Wells, Camden’s Roundhouse, Barrowlands in Glasgow and Dreamland in Margate.
